Healing Is Certain
Healing is always certain. It is impossible to let illusions be brought to truth and keep the illusions. Truth demonstrates that illusions have no value.
— A Course in Miracles, Manual for Teachers, 6:1.1-3
God is the name of the blanket we throw over mystery to give it shape. — Barry Taylor (AC/DC roadie)
People have been very interested in my healing journey. Their love, support, comments, questions, generosity, expressions of concern — all have warmed my heart and let me know what an infinite well of love is out there.
Thank you, friends, family, blog readers, acquaintances — All.
And there are so many not in physical reality but in Spiritual Reality, loving energies who surround me as I go about my daily routine. They are as fully present as anyone!
I want to express — without being exhibitionist or arrogant — the Truth of my circumstances.
I am choosing JOY!
No one who learns from experience that one choice brings peace and joy while another brings chaos and disaster needs additional convincing.
A Course in Miracles, Text. Chapter 4.3.3
I am not sick!!
I have a health challenge that I can look at in a couple of ways. How the world sees cancer is one perception. That is seeing with my body’s eyes, seeing an illusion.
Another way of perceiving cancer is through the eyes of spirit.
Walk by faith, not by sight. — 2 Corinthians 5:7
We paint by faith, not by sight .— Pablo Picasso
Nothing Real Can Be Threatened….
A Course in Miracles talks a lot about miracles and about healing. In some 1,100 pages it all boils down to one simple thought:
Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.
A Course in Miracles Text, Introduction 2-4
Spirit is REAL. It can’t be threatened. It can’t be destroyed. It does not decay. It can’t be lost. It stays perfect, whole, holy, healed, in perfect peace for eternity.
Nothing Unreal Exists
Bodies can be threatened. They can be destroyed. They decay. They can be lost. They change over time, and usually not for the better! Therefore, they are not real. They are illusions.
If I look at the cancer on the level of the body, it is a scary, life-threatening, deadly, fatal, etc. etc. (we have so many ways to express the negative).
If I look at the cancer on the level of Spirit, it is (in Reality) not there at all. But, because. I have a ways to go in my spiritual journey, I have to acknowledge it, and because I still identify in some large measure with this body, I have to get treatment.
The Peace of God
So, yes, chemotherapy and immunotherapy and taking extra medicines every day and blood work and additional tests and, and, and….
All the while holding to one of my most amazing mantras:
Respect the illusion
Know the Truth
Because I’m not perfect (as my ex’s and my kids and my friends and my family can tell you) and I still have work to do, lessons to learn, spiritual tools to practice using, getting more proficient with them in various life situations, the challenge of cancer is now seen rightly — an amazingly powerful opportunity to grow.
This is a manual for the teachers of God. They are not perfect, or they would not be here. Yet it is their mission to become perfect here, and so they teach perfection over and over, in many, many ways, until they have learned it.
— A Course in Miracles, Manual for Teachers Introduction 4-6
So, I am taking the treatments — 3 so far and 3 to go. Yet (again without bragging or being arrogant) I have virtually no side effects whatsoever! Hair loss and steroids messing up my blood sugars a bit, but otherwise, little to no fatigue, no nausea, no aches, pains, fevers, diarrhea.
Nothing.
As I’ve said before, I’m learning to stop buying into the world’s beliefs: that chemo drugs are “toxic”, that cancer is “fatal”, that everyone says…. this or that horror movie is “true. The chemo drugs are (for me) life-giving health juice restoring balance and wholeness to my body.
Our minds and spirits are so creatively powerful that we can declare anything to be true for ourselves, and it is so. (That is the meaning of the word “Amen” It is so.)
Or, as Abraham Hicks says, “You’re so free you can choose bondage.”
Choose Joy
Jesus said, “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” (John 7:24) Look with eyes of faith. Look past appearances to see the Truth.
Nothing is wrong with what is going on with you right now at this very moment. Don’t look around, look within. You’ll see that I’m right.
All is well. Now and forever.
En-JOY!! Your day

Hurray! Hurrah! For choosing J.O.Y.- I love this message!
I am personally struggling with things that keep breaking, last week the garbage disposal leaked all over when the dishwasher ran because it rusted out.
No problem, I researched a better model that uses stainless steel that will not rust, bought it, plumber installed it. He handled the hardwiring just fine. I didn’t want to mess with the wiring.
Today, I went out to my laundry room that is not climate controlled to check on my brand new $300 dehumidifier that I placed on top of the washing machine where it’s plug could reach the socket without an extension cord.
Well, it wasn’t on top of the washer when I opened the door. It was on the floor with the water bucket popped out, water all over the floor and the housing bent up a bit. It’s made of plastic so the corner that hit the ground first is bent a bit but I managed to pop the tabs that hold the parts together back in place with a slight bend to it.
I need to let the internal fluids settle for at least 24 hrs. before plugging it in to see if it is still working.
I’m obviously putting out thoughts to the universe that are creating brokenness around me. It’s making me pause and try to figure out what exactly I’m thinking to cause this.
I’m studying ACIM. I’m in a spirit book study group. I’m going to Unity-Eastside, I do fall short with my positive thinking but I do catch myself much quicker than I used to.
I’ve repaired most of my damaged pieces of furniture and possessions that the movers damaged last September and refused to repair…another long, long story…
I am trying to see the beauty and the goodness around me. I’m laughing more often, I love John’s reminder to be filled with joy.
I am whole and complete, my world is whole and complete.
Any other suggestions are welcome. Be well, be happy, be true to self.
