I would like to share that view but I don’t. Of course every opinion is personal and I do not claim to say something that is universally true, rather I can just share my feelings and emotions.
The church is enormous and the restoration work can be appreciated. But church is not just walls but also what happens inside. I think it is hard to find space for prayer or anything close to mysticism in Notre Dame. I wrote of it, i made it purposely tongue-in-cheek but the thing remains that having been brought up as Christian, and seen many churches that I liked, I left Notre Dame displeased. https://open.substack.com/pub/nomadicmind/p/paris-propriety-and-urban-rebellion?r=31fxoh&utm_medium=ios

Bonjour. I appreciate the comment and perhaps starting a dialogue.
I’m easily impressed, I will admit, but I tend to see things with a wide lens, from a high altitude, big picture stuff.
I will read your blog post to find out why you left Notre Dame displeased. I love learning new things from new perspectives, other than my own.
Merci beaucoup!
You are kind. After all, this is only a personal perspective, also influenced by a particular moment. Thank you and stay in touch!
So amazing that you are able yo visit it again 🙏♥️
Yes. It looks so beautiful inside. This summer the bell towers will be opened and I’ll go up there and take pictures.
